KAVAN NiMH 3000mAh/7.2V + Tamiya - KAV33.0372

The perfect 7.2 V 6-cell NiMH drive battery with 3000 mAh capacity, ideal for leisure and sport RC models such as 1:10 cars, other land vehicles, boats, and aircraft models. The classic “stick” pack with standard Tamiya® connector is ready to use – just charge and go!

KAVAN Sub-C (SC) size drive batteries offer high capacity, high discharge current, low internal resistance, and long service life. They support fast charging up to 1C, a maximum continuous discharge current of 20 A, and peaks up to 40 A.

BATTERY INSTALLATION

Secure the battery with Velcro or straps so that it cannot come loose during operation. Mount it in an easily accessible area of the model, protected from fuel, exhaust gases, other operating fluids, or water.

BATTERY CHARGING

Fully charge the battery before first use. Do not charge with a current higher than 1C. The battery temperature during charging should not exceed 40°C (the pack should feel warm, not hot).

BATTERY FORMATION

For optimal performance of a new battery, we recommend performing a formation process consisting of 3–5 cycles, including slow charging at 0.1–0.2C and discharging at a maximum of 1C. The discharged capacity is the key factor – stop the formation once the discharged capacity stabilizes (within about 5–10%). Repeat this process after long storage (several months).

BATTERY DISCHARGE

For faster charging, we recommend fully discharging the batteries before charging (to 1.0 V per cell, i.e. 6.0 V for a 6-cell pack). If the batteries become hot during discharge, allow them to cool to ambient temperature before recharging. During operation, the battery temperature should not exceed about 60°C (the pack should feel hot but still touchable). If necessary, reduce power consumption or use batteries with higher current capability.

BATTERY STORAGE

NiMH batteries should be stored fully charged. If you know they won’t be used for more than 3–4 weeks, charge them fully and store them in a dry place at normal room temperature. For long-term storage, fully discharge (to 1.0 V per cell) and recharge every 3 months.
